PROJECT CLOTHING
CGHAS procures donated CLOTHING from the public in Large and communities in North. America.
CGHAS works with many organizations to provide CLOTHING to qualifying recipients all over the world.
CGHAS sends shipments of donated CLOTHING to non-governmental, not-for-profit organizations or associations, which commit to distributing and/or using these materials for the benefit of qualified beneficiaries (orphanages, elderly houses, disabled individuals).
Each organization must also commit to ensuring that the CLOTHING will NOT BE SOLD, that DONATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED for the CLOTHING, and that appropriate mechanisms are in place for the proper receipt, storage and/or distribution of the CLOTHING in the recipient country.
It is important that the recipient organization have the required authority to clear the shipment through customs.
CGHAS DOES NOT PAY DEMURRAGE CHARGES.
Each recipient organization signs an agreement with CGHAS (the Memorandum of Understanding) which defines the responsibilities of each party for the shipment.
CLOTHING ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. However, a handling fee is necessary to reimburse CGHAS for those costs incurred to procure,
process, store, pack and ship the CLOTHING.
Payment of the handling fee is the responsibility of the recipient organization. NO CLOTHING can be shipped until the handling fee is paid in full. Handling fees vary according to the type of shipment.
Most often a Donated CLOTHING are shipped in a 20-foot sea container, holding approximately 15 M.T. of CLOTHING depending on their size and type (winter, summer, adult, child, or for women).
The handling fee for this type of shipment is the US $10.000 plus the full cost of freight for shipping to the recipient country.
The handling fee is due upon signing the L.O.U.
Occasionally, CGHAS may ship CLOTHING in 40-foot sea containers, holding approximately 20-30 M.T. of CLOTHING.
